there's something about that location...not one restaurant that has been in that spot over the past several years has been anything more than average.

i still can't figure out why long beach can't get a couple of really good restaurants....not fancy, just good!

hmmm, that's interesting. it's a great location and has so much potential....everytime it has changed, my hopes are high for a winner! Lola's, i think, is the best food they've had so far.

I think that the owner was always the same as well as the chef .. Only the name and concept changed.

Yes, I found it to be inconsistent.

I also agree, there is no much to rave about here.

Chef is the same and has been thru the last 3-4 changes of name

We had been to this place under 3 or 4 other names before and never cared much for it. Howerver we thought that we should give this place another shot because of all their advertising... It was obviously doing a fairly good business, maybe it was better now. After ordering our drinks and our food order courses we waited for about 45 minutes for our dinner to come. This is something that usually doesn't bother me as long as the wait staff attends to my beverage needs. After having to find our waitress she finally brought our drinks right before our dinner was about tp be served. I ordered the Chicken which was stuffed . My wife ordered the Marinated Grilled Shrimp. The presentation of both dishes was fine. However, the flavor and cooking of the meal fell far short !!way short. When I attempted to cut into my chicken I knew I was in for a bad meal. I had to use my knife to saw through an extremely tough piece of meat. The chicken was so overcooked and dry as to make chewing a challenge. My wife was enjoying her grilled shrimp until she got to the part that was also was overcooked and dry,she agreed that the last 1/2 of her meal was extremely unpleasant. So I guess this will be our last time here.
