The two hour parking limitation that is enforced on Park ave is causing problems for both patrons and staff of the Long Beach Public Library. As a public building, Long Beach Public Library is unique in it's lack of parking facilities. Libraries throughout Nassau County and in fact other public buildings in Long Beach all provide parking for staff and the public. The rigid enforcement of the two hour regulation in the parking mall between National Blvd and Magnolia Blvd makes it very difficult for patrons attending morning and afternoon programs. The parking garage is an inadequate solution to this problem. Some staff and patrons cannot walk that far. Additionally, the safety of staff members who work late hours is compromised. It is a shame that such a valuable community resource is having access denied because of inadequate parking and restrictive parking regulations. |

Speaking of Parking ............... the City of long Beach should issue residential parking permits to park south of the median of Broadway , I watch everyday as people circle to get the best spots near the boardwalk and then ether takes a bike out or start to run ... why not just park 2 blocks away since they are exercising anyway ....leave the close spots to the locals who come back from stores carrying packages ,, or the seniors that cant walk 3 blocks ....
