Hi everyone - I just heard today from a railroad co-commuter that the City of LB is going to start charging us for the presently-free railroad parking along (Park Place) up from Wendy's. Anyone heard about this outrage? When is this supposed to begin? Thanks. |

Hi, Yes I read in the Long Beach Herald or the Tribune about the meters that the city wants to install. They are taking bids for the job. And i think the meters will be all over the city, not just that street. |

In my humble opinion, meters usually urbanize an area. I often hear people from outside say that it's hard to park in Long Beach. Add meters, and now you'll alienate some of those visitors. That's not good for local businesses. I have not yet read any other details on what is being planned, so I'm only going by the two posts here so far. The City has made so many positive moves, but I think that meters will be a big mistake. mrk |
