Hey everyone. I have lived in Long Beach for a year (Riverside) and would like to meet new people. Most of my friends live in the city (where I also work during the week) and amazingly don't want to come here on the weekends. Any suggestions? I don't mind going out for drinks every once in awhile, but I've kinda outgrown the bar scene. I am not really into volleyball either which seems to be the big draw in the summertime. I'm thinking of starting up a walking group down at the boardwalk when the weather gets nice again if anyone is interested!! |

I just joined this board and see that many of its posts, including the one I'm responding to, are at least a year old. But here I go anyway: I just moved back to LB after being away for 30 years. I grew up here and moved away at age 13. Although I lived in other places in the ensuing decades, I always found a reason to come back, visit, and see what's changed in town. Now I decided to move back, mostly in order to have a shorter commute to my job in the city. Now I'm looking to meet new people as well. I too have outgrown the bar scene and volleyball doesn't appeal to me. I love walking and would love to join some sort of walking group, if one has formed. Also interested in music, writing, reading, photography, history, and a host of other subjects. Feel free to respond ... |

my wife and I are looking to meet people as well. we are kinda quirky and not the typical "long Island" type. We aren't into the bar scene anymore really as well.. maybe we can have an Insidelongbeach.com meetup! |

I'm from Valley Stream and my wife is from Seattle. Typical "Long Island" type means either glamor or gangster. We are more on the nerdy side. |

summer is here, officially....hopefully! let's try and organize an ILB gathering! sounds like fun!! we can go somewhere that we can get appetizers and drinks outside.
