Post subject: 2 longboards for sale

I have two longboards currently for sale. The boards are currently at Long Beach Surf Shop in Long Beach. The number is (516) 431-5431. Ask for Lenny or Mike; both are friendly and know quite a bit about longboards.

#1
Donald Takayama Hawaiian Pro Designs Surf Tech
9'0 Speed Shape DT-1
2 plus 1 fin set up (FCS plus long box)
N: 16
M: 22
T: 13 7/8
Th: 2 7/8
somewhat pointed nose, rounded pintail
60/40 rails to hard edge in the tail
concave in the nose to slight vee in the tail
color is yellow with red and black pinlines on deck

The board is in excellent shape, with one solidly repaired ding on the rail, caused by a massive collision wih my shin during a roundhouse gone wrong in decent sized surf in PR last winter (it takes a lot to ding these boards).

This would be a good board for travel and bigger or hollower surf. Performed well in PR and hollow head-high and overhead days in Long Beach. Paddles and trims well. Being sold because I prefer heavy volan boards.

Joel Tudor rides two variations of the DT-1 Speed Shape in the “Longer” DVD.

SPEED! It's needed for every type of maneuver and this board has plenty of it. With a comparatively narrow nose and tail and tri-fin setup, this board is a virtual rocket ship! This model works on a variety of different waves, but it thrives on shoulder high and up waves that have steep faces. This board handles racetrack sections with an ease and grace that is synonymous with the Hawaiian Pro Designs surfboard.

#2
RC Shapes 9'2 diamond tail
outline and design based on the Takayama DT-3
shaped by Ricky Carroll, the shaper who handles all of Takayama's East Coast boards. Ricky also shapes for Local Motion. Dimensions are somewhat as follows:
N: 17 1/8
M: 22 3/8
T: 14 1/4
Th: 2 7/8
somewhat pointed nose, diamond tail
60/40 rails, harder edge throughout for speed
concave in nose into slight vee in tail
volan cloth with knee paddleing patch on deck
dark green tinted opaque resin on bottom wrapping to deck, thick white resin pinline, dark green tinted transparent resin on deck (stringer more visible than bottom)
polished gloss finish
very strong board due to volan cloth and gloss coat
2 plus 1 fin set up (Future Fins plus long box)

Very similar to the green diamond tail DT-3 that Joel Tudor won the world championship on a few years ago. See “Super Slide” DVD for JT riding this board.

The board is in excellent shape with some deck depressions. It is being sold because I had the opportunity to purchase a brand new Joel Tudor Diamond tail for a great sale price.

With this diamond tail, tri-fin surfboard you will be able to speed through any section without losing speed, setting up for those tight whippy turns that get the heart beating and the adrenalin pumping. This board is all about flowing from one turn to the next without losing speed. As with all of Takayama's longboard designs, the DT-3 also nose rides incredibly well. The nose width is slightly broader than the DT-1 yet not as wide as the DT-2.
