 Hey so I ate for the first time last night a Nick D's and well ... Lets say I am never one to bash or bad mouth a local restraunt , but I have to say that my 3 hours in total (1 hour was in waiting ) their last night was not at all worth the hype .
Well I will not go into pin point detail but I was a little upset at the overall food quality and the prices I paid for what I did not enjoy , and as for the staff and mostly I mean the UPPER staff I was turned off by the arogance and snubness . I am sorry if this is harsh but this is not my usual post . PS If you want just a down to earth good meal in good company try John Henrys , Billys or something along that line . Sorry again .

I've not yet made it to Nick D's yet - and while they apparently have a really good reputation at their other restaurant, I've heard back only very mixed to negative feedback for this location thus far. Perhaps they are still getting things together here at the Long Beach location .... ?

Anybody else have any feedback on this one?

I liked Nick D's. Been there several times, the pasta and veal dishes are real good, and never had a problem with the staff.

The food is decent Italian. The wait is kinda annoying, but I don't mind. We usually get buzzed on martinis and other mixed drinks. Plus, it's still within walking distance for me ;).

They've been extremely consistent (good consistent) for takeout, although it gets pricey rather quickly unless you totally go budget family style, though portions are good size and so there are lots of leftovers.

Our only negative experience was when they delivered half-full soup containers - we told them about that and the next time was on the house.

We've still never eaten *at* the restaurant and thus not experienced the service.

Nicks is fine the only problem I find there is that the menu never changes.
