It has been some time since my last post on here, though recently I was reinspired by a recent trip to Nagoya's sushi bar. If anyone really enjoys high quality sushi, and at a reasonable cost for such this is your place. I wanted to just relaz and take my time at the sushi bar and that I did! There sashimi was just fantastic and fresh. I highly recomend the sweet shrimp while they are still in season, just great as is there super fresh salmon that is buttery and rich. Also try there albacore sashimi style of course.

Overall service is very good.
Price is about average or below what is should be for the quality offered.

Get out and try it soon. Thanks for reading.

Thanks LBMarine.

I'm of the non-sushi-eating variety and I frequently order take-out from Nagoya - and I've also been very pleased. The food is always reliably good, delivery is quick and the people there are super-nice.

For those who don't know where it's located, it's on West Park Ave, just a few doors down from Billy's Beach Cafe.

Mike

I did NOT care for this place at all. It is NO where is good as Nagahama.
And you can tell by the amount of empty tables they always seem to have there.
Been there, twice and that was enough.

Really? I have had really overall pleasant experiences there but hey I suppose everyone has their days. Also across from Nagahama is a little place called Himawari, Tommy the owner is always there at the sushi bar and is super friendly and takes pride in the food he puts on the table try it sometime!

Wow. Now that's a solid opinion! I'm surprised - we've never actually eaten at the restaurant, but we've ordered from them a ton of times and it's always consistent. It's not amazing, but it's consistently good.

We ordered out from Nagahama once, which I've always heard is supposed to be very good, but that one and only time was a bad one - so we never tried them again. Perhaps we will give them another shot.

LBMarine - Nice to see you back here!

We've never tried Himawari - I'm not a big sushi fan - do they only serve sushi?

I do agree with you . This place is far from the best in Long Beach . Nagahama is much superior.

I'm suddenly getting a craving for Japanese food :)

Looks like I'll need to give Nagahama another chance.

Nagahama is the best by far..Nagoya or Himawari are not even in the same league.

Incidentally, are you guys referring to Sushi, or otherwise? I'm unfortunately not part of the Sushi conspiracy ;) I go for the basics like Teriyaki Beef and Salmon.

Sushi is the ONLY thin that Nagoya or Himawari carry...Yes they carry Salmon rools but not real Salmon or Teriyaki Beef, for that you would have to go some where else..nit even to Nagahama. But to a Japanese resturant. ALL the places in Long beach are sushi houses.

Yes Nagahama will have Shrimp, Mackerel, Salmon,Tuna, White Fish and Crab but all in Sushi

Nagoya Japanese Restaurant in my opinion is EH!
There are so many much better places in the area that overshadow this place.
If you want a Japanese gem...go to Nagahama.
