Does anybody see any benefits (other than possible monetary savings) of doing this?

I am personally very opposed to the idea. It looks like Long Beach Public Schools did come up with a creative proposal and overall detailed plan of decent quality for the direction of the City's school system as a whole. Given that creativity and forward thinking, I believe that they can find a way to keep East School in operation.

I may be wrong, but I don't think this will be to the benefit of the young children of Long Beach. And *they* are the future.

mrk
