This is a plug for the lifeguards and the great job that they do.

Forget it dude, the lifeguards suck. They're lazy and total weaklings.

I have to disagree with Shredder. LB Lifeguards are the best around.!!!
They are the most attentive and careful.

Shredder, you have a problem..

Unbelievable that anyone would slam our lifeguards. All my nieghbors sit near the Lifeguard stand and I can't say enough good things about them, they are attentive and once when my son started to float away on his boogie board, I hit the water running and the Lifeguard stopped me and dove in to rescue my son! Long Beach Lifeguards are the best! Anyone with a child will tell you that this is true. The only drownings that I have ever heard about here in Long beach happened after Lifeguard hours when people had no business being in the water.

I absolutely agree that the lifeguards in LB do a great job.

I've lived here now for ten summers and I've been impressed in witnessing a couple of rescues. The rescues were well organized - it seems that they receive good training.

I too have never heard of any drownings occuring while the lifeguards have been on duty. To my knowledge, they've all been after-hours.

mrk

Not to mention the after hour rescues they do while out surfing after work. I've seen plenty of those in my time. I'm not a lifeguard, but I grew up surfing with them.

I have to disagree with shredder, as someone who grew up surfing in LB then sering in its Fire dept. I have found that the Long Beach life Guards are some of the finest in the nation. they are attentive, train hard and have along history of helping make Long beach one of the best beaches to go to on the eastern seaboard.
